Harald Hutter was born in Montreal, Canada. He holds a BFA in Art History from Concordia University and an MA in Film Theory from University College London. After working at the Prince Charles Cinema in London for a few years, Harald moved to Paris and began collaborating with Kafard Films. His short films have won prizes — Best Short Experimental Film at the 68th Edinburgh International Festival Festival and Best Short Experimental Film at the Aesthetica Film Festival. They have been nominated by the British Council and have screened at numerous festivals such as the London Short Film Festival or more recently the Festival International du Film Independent de Bordeaux.
Harald recently completed his first feature documentary, Up The River With Acid. He is also working on a number of fiction features that are at different stages of development. Harald is Chair of the Film Art department at the Paris College of Art that is jointly run with Emerson in Boston.
